The Great Dunes of Erg Chigaga

Experience the largest sand sea in Morocco. These towering golden dunes stretch across the Sahara and reach up to 300 meters high.

The main dunes form the heart of Erg Chigaga. This remote area covers roughly 40 kilometers by 15 kilometers, sitting completely off the grid.

Because there are no paved roads, reaching the dunes requires a 1.5 to 2-hour off-road drive from M'Hamid El Ghizlane. Once you arrive, you can explore the sand sea on foot, by camel, or on a sandboard.
